Twitch Channel Points Calculator

See how many channel points you earn per hour, week and month — and how long any points goal will take

Twitch gives viewers 10 channel points every 5 minutes of live watch time (120 per hour), plus a 50-point bonus chest roughly every 15 minutes if you click it. A non-subscriber who claims every chest earns about 320 points per hour, so 100,000 points takes roughly 312 hours of watching. Subscribers earn faster: Tier 1 adds 1.2×, Tier 2 1.4× and Tier 3 2×. Enter your own numbers below for an exact estimate.

One-off bonuses (counted once)

Earning rates last checked October 2026 against Twitch’s channel points guide for viewers. Streamers can turn individual earning methods off, so your channel may differ.

How to Use This Calculator

Enter how many hours of live streams you watch per week and pick your subscription tier (Prime counts as Tier 1). Leave the bonus-chest box ticked if you click the chest whenever it appears, or untick it to see passive-only earnings, for example when the stream is in a background tab. Type the points goal you are saving for, plus your current balance if you have one. Tick any one-off bonuses you expect, such as a new follow or a watch streak, then press Calculate Channel Points to see your points per hour, week and month and the hours left to your goal.

How Twitch Channel Points Are Earned

  • Watching live — 10 points every 5 minutes (120 per hour).
  • Bonus chest — 50 points when you click the chest, which appears about every 15 minutes (up to 200 per hour).
  • Follow — 300 points, once per channel.
  • Raid — 250 points for joining a raid into the channel.
  • Watch streak — 300, 350, 400 or 450 points for watching your 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th+ stream in a row.
  • First cheer / first gift sub — 350 points for your first Bits cheer and 500 points for your first gifted sub in each 30-day period.

The formula used here is: points per hour = (120 + 200 if you claim chests) × your sub multiplier. Weekly points are that rate times your weekly hours, monthly points use 4.35 weeks, and one-off bonuses are added once at their base value. Predictions are left out because you can win or lose points on them.

For Streamers: Pricing Channel Point Rewards

The same math helps you price custom rewards. A regular non-subscriber who claims chests earns about 320 points an hour, so a 1,000-point reward costs roughly three hours of watching, a 10,000-point reward about 31 hours, and a 100,000-point reward more than 300 hours. Keep frequent, low-effort rewards cheap and save big costs for rewards you only want redeemed now and then.
