How to Use This Calculator

Enter the number of subscribers you have (or expect) at each tier. Tier 1 is the most common at $4.99/month; Tier 2 is $9.99; Tier 3 is $24.99. Prime subs pay the same as Tier 1, and gifted subs are also counted at the Tier 1 price. Choose your revenue split — most Twitch Affiliates start at 50/50, while established Partners may negotiate 60/40 or 70/30. Optionally add the number of Bits you receive per month (each Bit is worth $0.01, and you keep 100% of Bits income). Click Calculate Revenue to see your estimated monthly and yearly earnings plus a per-tier breakdown.

How Twitch Subscription Revenue Works

Twitch offers three subscription tiers. Each tier has a fixed US list price, and the revenue is split between the streamer and Twitch. The standard split for Affiliates is 50/50, meaning you keep half of each sub’s price. Partners with large audiences can negotiate a better split — up to 70/30 in some cases.

  • Tier 1 — $4.99/month. The most popular tier and the default for new subscribers.
  • Tier 2 — $9.99/month. Includes extra emotes and a special badge.
  • Tier 3 — $24.99/month. The highest tier with the most emotes and a distinct badge.
  • Prime — $4.99 equivalent. Amazon Prime members can subscribe to one channel per month at no extra cost; the streamer is paid the same as a Tier 1 sub.
  • Gifted subs — $4.99 per gift (Tier 1 price). A viewer buys subs for other viewers in the channel.

Bits are Twitch’s virtual currency. Viewers buy Bits from Twitch and “cheer” them in chat. Each Bit is worth $0.01 to the streamer, and you keep 100% of Bits revenue — Twitch takes its cut when the viewer purchases the Bits, not when they are cheered.

The formula this calculator uses is:

  • Gross sub revenue = (Tier 1 + Prime + Gifted) × $4.99 + Tier 2 × $9.99 + Tier 3 × $24.99
  • Your sub share = Gross × your split percentage
  • Total monthly = Your sub share + (Bits × $0.01)

Tips to Grow Your Twitch Subscription Revenue

More subscribers start with more viewers. Stream on a consistent schedule so your audience knows when to tune in. Engage with chat to build the personal connection that converts casual viewers into paying subscribers. Use sub-only perks (custom emotes, sub-only chat mode during hype moments, loyalty badges) to make the subscription feel valuable.

Many streamers also invest in growing their channel’s visibility across platforms. If you are exploring social media marketing services to boost your presence, you can compare Twitch follower services in our directory or track your follower growth rate over time. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Twitch streamer make per sub?

At the default 50/50 split, a Tier 1 sub ($4.99) pays the streamer roughly $2.50. Tier 2 ($9.99) pays about $5.00, and Tier 3 ($24.99) pays about $12.50. Partners who negotiate a 70/30 split earn $3.49, $6.99, and $17.49 per sub respectively. Twitch keeps the remainder.

Do Twitch streamers keep 100% of Bits?

Yes. Twitch takes its margin when the viewer purchases the Bits. Once a viewer cheers Bits in your channel, each Bit is worth exactly $0.01 to you with no further deduction.

What is the difference between a Twitch Affiliate and a Partner?

Affiliates are the entry-level monetisation tier. They unlock subscriptions, Bits, and ad revenue once they meet basic requirements (50 followers, 500 minutes streamed in the last 30 days, 7 unique broadcast days, and an average of 3 viewers). Partners are invited by Twitch or apply after reaching higher thresholds, and they can negotiate a better revenue split (up to 70/30), get priority support, and access additional features like transcoding and verified badges.

Does this calculator include ad revenue?

No. This tool estimates subscription and Bits revenue only. Ad revenue varies widely based on viewer geography, ad blockers, and how many ads you run per hour, so it is difficult to estimate with a simple calculator. Twitch pays roughly $2–$5 per 1,000 ad impressions (CPM) on average.

Are Twitch sub prices the same worldwide?

No. Twitch introduced regional pricing in many countries, so a Tier 1 sub may cost less than $4.99 for viewers in certain regions. The streamer’s payout is adjusted accordingly. This calculator uses US list prices as a baseline — your actual revenue may differ if a large share of your audience subscribes from lower-priced regions.

Does this calculator access my Twitch account?

No. It runs entirely in your browser from the numbers you type. No login, no API call, and no data ever leaves your device.

* Revenue estimates use US list prices and assume every sub renews for the full month. Actual payouts may vary due to regional pricing, payment processing fees, chargebacks, and tax withholding.
